Investigations underway after two suspicious fires at Burleigh business

UPDATE @ 8.00AM | Investigators will return to the scene of a fire in Burleigh Heads, that broke out in a tyre shop in the early hours of this morning.

Crews were called to the Central Drive business just after 5.00am, following reports of the blaze.

It was extinguished by 5.30am, with no injuries reported.


Police have confirmed they’ll be returning to the scene today, to investigate the suspicious circumstances under which it was lit.

It’s the same business that a fire broke out in last week (December 15).

Charges are yet to be laid.

EARLIER @ 6.00AM | Fire fighters are battling a blaze that broke out at a business on the southern Gold Coast early this morning.

They were called to reports of a fire along Central Drive in Burleigh Heads around 5.00am.

Three crews are currently on scene battling the blaze, which is understood to be burning in a tyre shop.

No injuries have been reported, but police have confirmed they are treating the blaze as suspicious.

Investigations are underway.

It comes a week after a similar incident, where a business along Central Drive also went up in flames.

Luckily, that was just contained to the front of the store.
