Fire fighters issue a warning ahead of weekend rain

A couple of weeks after we were hit hard by wild weather conditions, the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service has issued a warning.

Last time we were left to clean up the mess after the East Coast Low brought with it some major storms.

On Wednesday the Bureau of Meteorology warned us to get ready for more flash flooding.

And fire fighters and emergency services are already prepared for more swift water rescues.

They are increasingly being sent to handle swift water rescues linked to flash flooding.

They also want to encourage residents to get ready, that means making preparations at home including cleaning up the yard and gutters,

Researchers from the University of New South Wales analysed the data from 1300 rain gauges and 1700 temperature stations across Australia, and found that flooding from more concentrated storms was up to 60% more likely due to climate change.
