Bali-hut bursts into flames at Gold Coast resort
THERE has been a lucky escape at a Gold Coast resort after a Balinese-hut burst into flames this morning.
Fire crews were called to the property at the corner of Marine Parade and Robert Street in Labrador just after 10am.
When they arrived they found a Bali-style hut well alight out the back – pictures and video below.
Police evacuated a set of neighbouring units and closed Robert Street to allow for crews to extinguish the fire.
A large smoke plume could bee seen towering above high rise buildings from several kilometres away.
No one is thought to have been injured, although paramedics were on standby.
Crews remain on scene dampening the blaze.
