Fire prompts evacuation of Brisbane Airport
THERE’S chaos at Brisbane Airport this afternoon after a fire prompted the partial evacuation its domestic terminal.
Officials said smoke from a small fire in the Virgin Australia end of the Domestic Terminal forced hundreds from the building just before 2pm.
It’s understood a grinding mechanical noise was heard coming from near the baggage belts before the alarms sounded and smoke started to fill the terminal.
The all clear has since been given and re-screening has commenced.
Passengers have been advised to check with their airline for delays.
