A SURFERS Paradise restaurant has suffered extensive damage after a fire ripped through its building overnight.
Multiple fire crews were called to Surfers Paradise RSL on Beach Road around 1.45am on Wednesday after witnesses reported smoke billowing from the building.

Crews arrived to find a chef’s office and commercial kitchen involved in fire on the second floor.
It took firefighters roughly 45 minutes to extinguished the flames, with significant water and smoke damage caused to the restaurant.
Early reports suggest an electrical fault may have started the blaze. No one was injured.
