Firies race to Southport unit fire

A woman has been treated for minor injuries after a unit fire at Southport early this morning.

Emergency crews raced to the home on Nerang Street around 5.30am.

A woman was treated by paramedics at the scene for a laceration to her hand.


Police confirmed all occupants of the home had been accounted for and that the blaze was not being treated as suspicious.

Meanwhile, also in Southport, a man was taken to hospital after a motorbike crash on Smith Street and Kumbari Avenue.

The accident occurred just after 5.00am.

The man, aged in his 20s, was transported in a stable condition.
