THE first night collision involving a Gold Coast tram occurred in Surfers Paradise over the weekend.
It was around 7.30pm on Sunday when a car clipped the side of the G:link tram on the Gold Coast Highway at Moncao St.

The force of the impact dented parts of the front carriage and shattered a glass door. No one was injured.
It was also the first car verses tram prang to occur in Surfers Paradise since testing began.
The light rail is yet to transport its first passengers, with a public launch date still to be confirmed.
