Five charged after throwing man from Brisbane balcony

Five people have been charged with attempted murder after they allegedly threw a man from the balcony of a third-floor apartment in Brisbane.

The four men and a woman were taken into custody on Thursday, after the 22-year-old man fell 15 metres from the Bowen Hills balcony on February 24.

The victim suffered a number of injuries including broken ribs, arms, jaw, hips and broken teeth.

Police claim the group forced their way into the Constance Street apartment and confronted the man inside before getting into an altercation and throwing him off the balcony.

Two 35-year-old men, a 39-year-old man, a 38-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman have all been charged with one count each of attempted murder, acts intended to maim, enter premises with intent, grievous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.

They are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
