Five people have been injured, three critically, after a man went on a stabbing rampage at a supermarket in the New Zealand city of Dunedin.
It’s believed at least two of the injured are staff members of the Countdown Supermarket.
The attack happened around 2.30pm local time with shoppers reporting they were alerted to the chaos by screaming coming from the aisles before people started to run from the store.

Customers reportedly helped tackle the armed man before Police arrived.
At least one person is suffering a wound to the neck and has been rushed to hospital.
Police are responding to an incident in central Dunedin.
It occurred on Cumberland St at about 2.30pm.
Initial information suggests several people have been injured.
One person has been taken into custody.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said there was noting at this stage that suggested the attack was terror-related.
“Needless to say such an attack is hugely concerning,” Ms Ardern said.
