Detectives have charged five people north of the Gold Coast after initially catching one man operating an allegedly stolen vehicle.
Police attended a property in Logan Village yesterday morning, to find the man driving an excavator which had allegedly been stolen from a business nearby.
During their search of the property officers located drugs, mobile phones, cameras and vehicle keys.

A 47-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with one count of unlawful motor vehicle, two counts of entering premises and commit indictable offence, one count each of possession of tainted property, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a drug utensil and stealing of a vehicle.
Following further investigation at the same house four more people were charged with offences. They’re all due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court in the next month.
A 36-year-old Logan Village man was charged with one count of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of utensil, possession of an explosive (ammunition) and failure to dispose of a needle and syringe.
A 37-year-old Logan Village man was charged with two counts of possession of a utensil and one count each of possession of restricted drugs and possession of explosive (ammunition).
A second 37-year-old Logan Village man has been charged with one count of possession of drug property and failure to dispose of a needle and syringe.
And finally, a 32-year-old Eagleby woman was charged with one count of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of utensil.
