Five teens arrested over wild police chase and armed robbery

Five juveniles have been taken into custody after allegedly storming a home in Logan with knives before stealing a car from the property.

The frightening incident occurred around 11.45pm last night, when two 15-year-olds and three 14-year-olds forced entry to a house on Warrigal Avenue in Eight Miles Plains armed with knives.

The group allegedly stole the keys to two vehicles before taking off in a stolen Nissan sedan.


A few hours later, police sighted the vehicle in the suburb of Macgregor and followed the car for several kilometres.

It finally came to a stop after police deployed a tyre deflation device on Creek Road in Carindale.

Four of the boys were arrested at the scene, while a fifth boy allegedly took off on foot and was later tracked down by the dog squad.

The group of five have all been charged with enter dwelling with intent, two counts of robbery with violence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

One of the 14-year-old boys has also been charged with possess dangerous drug and evade police, while another 14-year-old from the group was charged with receive tainted property and possess drug utensil.

All are due to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court later today.
