Flights into Queensland ON SALE to celebrate border reopening

Virgin Australia is  celebrating the reopening of Queensland’s borders with one of its largest airfare sales ever.

One million seats are going on sale for as little as $59 one-way on various routes into Queensland, including the Gold Coast.

It comes as Queensland’s borders finally reopen to New South Wales and Victoria, after 141 days of closures.

The sale is on for flights between January and June 2022, and includes routes like Sydney to Gold Coast, Melbourne to Gold Coast and Hobart to Gold Coast.

Virgin Australia reported a 120 percent increase in flight searches online last Monday, when Queensland confirmed they’d be opening their border in time for Christmas.

The Chief Commerical Officer Dave Emerson says they want travellers to make the most of the easing of border restrictions.

“Today is a monumental day for Australians, and we’re delighted to help travellers right across the country reunite with loved ones, friends and family or finally visit that dream Queensland holiday destination over the summer period and into 2022,” said Mr Emerson.

“This is one of the largest state-wide sales in Virgin Australia history, with over one-million fares available from as low as $59 one-way, to many wonderful locations right across the Sunshine State.

“As a business headquartered in Brisbane, we’re delighted to finally have Queensland open to majority of the country. The ‘Queensland is Good to Go’ sale allows travellers to share in this excitement and visit the Sunshine State through some of the best value fares on the market.

“Our pilots, cabin crew and wonderful team members are equally excited to get back in the air and welcome travellers back on board with our famous Virgin Australia charisma,” Mr Emerson said.

The ‘Queensland is Good to Go’ sale starts today and runs through to this Friday, December 17 or until sold out.
