Flood levels easing in Logan River following heavy rain

FLOOD levels are easing in the Logan River following 24 hours of heavy rainfall.

River levels peaked at the minor flood level of 5.7 metres in the Upper Logan River at Beaudesert on Thursday morning after 80-120mm of rain fell in the catchment.

Rises are still occurring downstream to Maclean Bridge, however, the river here is expected to remain below the minor flood level.

The Bureau of Meteorology says river levels will continue to recede with no further significant rainfall expected.

A Flood Warning remains current for the Logan River.
