Police have charged a former Catholic school teacher with 21 historic sex offences against a child between 1989 and 1991 in Wollongong.
Following information obtained from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, officers from Wollongong Local Area Command today arrested a 73-year-old man at Redfern Police Station.
He was later charged with the historical offences of indecent assault in authority (x9) and homosexual intercourse teacher of pupil (x12).

He has been granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on 5 January 2016.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between 1989 and 1991, while the man was employed as a Brother and teacher at a Catholic school in Wollongong.
The victim was a student of the school, aged 12 to 14 at the time.
