Former MasterChef contestant in drug scandal

A former MasterChef contestant is facing serious drug charges after he was busted with more than 150 ecstasy pills and $16,500 in cash.

Filippo Silvestro appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, charged with four offences including dangerous drug supply, possession and tainted property.

The 42-year-old was arrested on October 28, after officers allegedly found the drugs and cash in his possession in Brisbane’s CBD.

Silvestro made the top 16 on the 2012 season of the cooking competition show.

His case has been adjourned to February 4.
