Former NSW teacher charged over historic indecent assaults
A former teacher has been arrested and charged over the alleged historic indecent assaults of several students at a high school in Sydney’s inner west.
It’s alleged three male students were indecently assaulted by a teacher at a school in Lewisham between 1971 and 1974.
Police said the boys were aged 12 and 13 at the time.
Following a protracted investigation, detectives from the Marrickville Local Area Command yesterday arrested a 79-year-old man.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was formally charged with four counts of indecent assault on a male and common assault.
The man, who police said resides in Chittaway Bay, was granted bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on 3 August.
Detectives are continuing their inquiries and urging anyone with information to come forward.
