Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke was admitted to hospital in Sydney overnight.
The 88-year-old is understood to be “fine” and in Royal North Shore hospital for some “minor tests”, a Labor spokesman said.
Rumours began circulating on Monday evening that Mr Hawke had suffered a stroke, however that is incorrect.

Mr Hawke served as Australia’s 23rd Prime Minister from 1983-1991.
