Former Queensland Premier loses fight for life

NEWS just in, former Queensland Premier Wayne Goss has died, aged 63.

The Brisbane Times reported that Labor party sources confirmed the news.

Mr Goss had been sick for a while and had undergone surgery for brain tumours.


He served as Premier of the Sunshine State between 1989 and 1996.  He was replaced by Rob Borbidge for the National Party.

Before entering the world of politics, Mr Goss worked as a solicitor.

After retiring as a politician he served as Chairman of the Queensland Art Gallery and of Deloitte Australia.

Mr Goss was born in Mundubbera, Queensland, on 26 February 1951.
