Former Surfers cop pleads guilty to possessing drugs

A FORMER Gold Coast drug cop has pleaded guilty to possessing drugs in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

Surfers Paradise drug squad detective Peter Betts was charged after he was found with steroids and ecstasy following a raid by the Crime and Corruption Commission last month.

He resigned from the police service the next day.

Today Peter Betts pleaded guilty to three counts of drug possession. He will be sentence on December 4 in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.
