Former swim school coach arrested over alleged sexual assaults

A former swim coach has been arrested following allegations two young boys were sexually assaulted at a swimming school in Sydney’s southwest.

The 44-year-old was taken into custody by detectives outside a home in Sylvania about 7am today.

He’s been taken to Sutherland Police Station, where he is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

It comes after police launched an investigation last month, after receiving reports two men had been groomed and sexually assaulted by a man known to them while they were children.

“It will be alleged that the offences took place between 1997 and 2003 at a former swim school in Padstow,” NSW Police said in a statement.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad are also assisting with the ongoing investigation.
