Former teacher charged with indecently assaulting primary school students

A FORMER teacher has been charged with indecently assaulting a number of primary school students in the NSW Riverina region.

The 62-year-old man is accused of indecently assaulting three children aged between nine and 11 while teaching at a primary school at Tumut between 1980 and 1984.

Following an extensive investigation, detectives yesterday arrested the man at an address at Gorokon.

The former teacher was charged with 12 counts of acts of indecency and one count of indecent assault.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Wyong Local Court on May 24.

Investigations into the allegations are continuing.
