A former youth officer has today been arrested following investigations into allegations of historical, serious sexual abuse at a western Sydney boys’ home.
Detectives from Strike Force Eckersley made the arrest around 8.00am at a home at Basin View.
“Following months of painstaking investigations, detectives travelled to a property at Basin View, on the state’s south coast, around 8am today and arrested a 74-year-old man,” NSW police said in a statement.

The man has been taken to the Nowra Police Station to assist detectives with their inquiries.
Strike Force Eckersley was formed in late 2016 to investigate a series of complaints referred by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Its inquiries centre on allegations of child sexual assaults that occurred at the Daruk Training School at Berkshire Park, near Windsor, between 1965 and 1985.
This is the third arrest in as many months for strike force detectives.
