Tialeigh Palmer’s foster brother has case heard in court

UPDATE @ 9.50am: The foster brother of murdered Logan schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has had his case heard in court this morning.

19-year-old Trent Thorburn is charged with incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice over Tiahleigh’s suspected murder.

He did not appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday and the matter was adjourned until December 21.


He has been ordered to attend his next court appearance.

Tiahleigh’s mother Cindy Palmer attended the hearing today.

EARLIER @ 7.47am: The foster brother of murdered schoolgirl Tialeigh Palmer is back in court today, charged with incest, perjury and perverting the course of justice.

12-year-old Tialeigh Palmer was reported missing on October 30, 2015 and her body was found on the banks of the Pimpama River six days later.

Her foster father, 56-year-old Rick Thorburn has been charged with her murder, while her foster mother and other foster brother will plead guilty to perjury and perverting the course of justice.

Julene, 54, and Joshua Thorburn, 20, will testify against her accused killer Rick Thorburn, according to their lawyer.

Trent Thorburn last faced court on September 21.
