Four cyclists hospitalised after crashing into dead pig

Four cyclists have been hospitalised after crashing into a dead pig on their morning ride in North Queensland.

One man – aged in his early 40s – has suffered serious head injuries, and was rushed to hospital with critical care paramedics on board.

Two others suffered shoulder injuries, while the third had multiple abrasions.


They’re believed to be in stable conditions in the Townsville Hospital.

The group were travelling along Port Access Road at Stuart, just south of Townsville, when the toppled the dead hog on the road around 6.30am.
