Four injured in two separate violent attacks in Surfers

One man is in custody while another is on the run, after two separate attacks in Surfers Paradise left four men with injuries.

Police are questioning a 35-year-old man after an armed robbery on Cypress Avenue around 9.30pm Friday.

A 23-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint.

He wasn’t injured, but two of his mates chased the robber to Ferny Avenue where they got into a fight with the man.

The two friends ended up with non-life-threatening cuts to their hands and arms.

The attacker ran off but was later found at a hostel in Pine Avenue.

No charges have yet been laid.

Just two hours later, a man forced his way into an apartment on Cypress Avenue before assaulting two people.

One man was punched and kicked and had to be taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment on a fractured jaw.

The other man was punched to the head and suffered minor injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
