FOUR men are in police custody, being quizzed by detectives from the Homicide Squad after a woman was found dead in an apartment following what is thought to have been a bucks night gone wrong in the heart of Melbourne.
Police say they were called to a block of serviced apartments on Market Street in the city centre around 8am on Sunday where they found the woman’s body in a room on the 10th floor.
The room was reportedly being rented out by a group of up to 11 men from Canberra who were in the city for a bucks party. It’s understood the woman had returned to the apartment with the men on Saturday night.

The exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are yet to be established, however, Victoria Police say at this stage, they are treating it as suspicious.
Investigators spent most the day examining the Market Street apartment, which remains a crime scene, and were on Sunday afternoon still trying to identify the woman.
Police have not yet revealed how she died, or whether she was found with any obvious injuries.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the woman’s cause of death.
According to FairFax Media, one of the men found the woman dead in the shower.
Victoria Police released a statement on Sunday afternoon, confirming four men were in police custody.
The group is assisting detectives with their investigation, the statement said.
The investigation continues.
No charges had been laid at the time of writing.
