UPDATE @ 9.50am: Five men have been charged following a violent altercation in which one man was allegedly stabbed and another assaulted in Burleigh Heads overnight.
Police say around 11.05pm a verbal argument broke out between two groups of men inside a fast food restaurant located on the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads.
Shortly after the men allegedly met up again in the car park where a 26-year-old Robina man was stabbed in the back and a 33-year-old Mudgeeraba man was punched in the face.

A gun was also allegedly produced during the altercation and located in the car park when police arrived.
A 33-year-old man from Mudgeeraba, a 17-year-old man from Robina, an 18-year-old man from Burpengary, a 21-year-old man from Rothwell and a 17-year-old man from Mudgeeraba have all been charged with affray.
All of the men charged are expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on August 19.
Police investigations are continuing.
EARLIER @ 4.30am: A man is being treated in hospital for stab wounds while four others are being questioned by Police after an argument turned violent in Burleigh Heads.
Police have four men, aged between 17 and 21, in custody following the incident at a fast food restaurant on the Gold Coast Highway.
Officers were called around 11.15pm on Thursday amid reports of a violent encounter.
It’s believed a verbal argument broke out between two groups of men inside the eatery just after 11pm before things moved into the carpark.
A 26-year-old Robina man was stabbed in the back.
While a 33-year-old from Mudgeeraba man was struck in the face.
Police say a gun was also pulled out during the altercation and found in the car park when they arrived.
All four men from one group ran off but were later arrested in various nearby locations.
The 26-year-old man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to a non-life threatening injury.
