Four teens arrested after abandoning alleged stolen ute on the Gold Coast

Four teens have been arrested after allegedly ditching a stolen ute in Upper Coomera overnight.

Police spotted the Toyota Hilux via PolAir when it came down the M1 from Brisbane around 9.00 pm.

They tracked to Seagreen Drive when the four occupants then allegedly fled.

Officers were able to track them down and arrest them nearby without incident.

A 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and two 15-year-old boys were detained with three of them facing multiple charges.

They’ll each front children’s court today.

Details of the charges are below:

  • A 14-year-old girl has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence Never held a licence. She was refused watch house bail is expected to face Children’s Court today.
  • A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of fail to comply with the requirement to stop the private vehicles. He was refused watch house bail is expected to face Children’s Court today.
  • A 15-year-old girl has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence Never held a licence. She was refused watch house bail is expected to face Children’s Court today.
  • Investigations are continuing with a 15-year-old boy also taken into custody.
