Four teens charged over alleged stolen car joy ride across Gold Coast

A group of teens have been arrested after they were busted on an alleged joy ride in a stolen car on the Gold Coast last night.

Police came across the Audi along Oceanic Drive in Mermaid Waters last night and covertly followed it in an unmarked vehicle just before 11.00 pm.

PolAir was also involved in tracking the vehicle all the way to Coomera before a tyre deflation device was deployed.

The vehicle came to a stop along Entertainment Drive in Oxenford, before the offenders attempted to flee the scene on foot.

Officers quickly tracked them down, arresting four teenagers all aged between 13 and 17 years old.

A 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl have all been charged.

The Audi is believed to have been stolen from an address in Broadbeach Waters yesterday.

Teens joy riding in a stolen car, well I never…

Well, I’ll bet you never . . . .

With all the “talk” around new laws being imposed at the moment, just shows these ferals have no fear of the law.
Unfortunately the new laws don’t even cover car theft so this will just continue.
If they stole a handbag etc. they would most likely end up with a conviction, but car theft just a slap on the wrist!
