Amber Alert deactivated after missing boy, 9, found safe and well

UPDATE 3.45PM | A 9-year-old boy reported missing in Rockhampton has been located safe and well.

The boy was located in Kawana around 3.20pm. The Amber Alert activated at 2.30pm has been cancelled.

Police say they are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the boy’s disappearance.

UPDATE 3PM | AN official Amber Alert has been activated for a 9-year-old boy missing from Rockhampton.

Police say the boy was last seen at an address on Webber Ave at Kawana around 4.30pm on Saturday – almost 24 hours ago. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Police believe the child may be at significant risk as he suffers from a medical condition which requires medication.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 145cm tall with a fair complexion, brown eyes and short sandy blonde hair.

The boy was last seen wearing a black singlet with a bright yellow skull design on the front, black stubby style shorts and no shoes.

Police say the boy could be riding a red and black BMX bicycle and may have travelled to the Norman Gardens area.

An initial missing alert was issued for the child at 1.25pm. This was followed by an official Amber Alert at 2.32pm.
