Alarmingly, 76 per cent of cardiac arrests occur in the home, which means family members and friends can play a pivotal role in the chain of survival.
To raise awareness about the importance of knowing what to do in the case of an emergency, Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics will be providing free CPR and AED demonstrations to the public today.
The event will take place under the Soul Building in Surfers Paradise from 10am to 12.30pm, with a special guest appearance from Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Mascot Borobi.
