Free CPR training to help Gold Coasters save lives

GOLD Coasters will learn to become heart starters as part of Take Heart Australian Day.

The Queensland Ambulance Service is offering free CPR training in the Broadbeach Mall tomorrow (Monday Nov 30) from 10am to 3pm.

30,000 Australians suffer cardiac arrest each year, but less than 10 per cent come through it.

Take Heart Australia Day aims to increase the survival rate by educating people on how to save a life.

QAS Medical Director Steve Rashford says effective CPR is known to save lives.

“Absolutely everyone of all ages can attempt CPR. The important thing to know, is you can’t hurt someone in cardiac arrest – you can only save their life.
