Free dental care for carers this Sunday

Caring for others can mean you don’t take enough care of yourself and, with National Carers Week coming up next week, a number of Gold Coast dental clinics are offering local carers FREE dental care on Sunday.

Maven Dental Group has clinics in Mermaid Beach, Robina, Southport and Tugan. The group’s General Manager of Marketing, Sheridan Burke, said the four clinics would be opening their doors to provide dental exams, X-rays, teeth cleaning and a range of other basic treatments for free.

Complex treatments that require more than one visit cannot be provided on the day – and cosmetic treatments such as tooth whitening and orthodontics are also excluded – but patients will be advised on treatment options for more complex procedures and the government subsidies that may be available to them.

Spots are limited so, if you’re a carer, register as soon as possible by calling Carers Australia on (02) 6122 9900.

“Dental care is a basic health essential and something that our clinicians and their staff are well equipped to provide to those who don’t always take time out for themselves,” said Maven Dental Group’s Ms Burke.

“At its core, Maven Dental Day is all about giving back to those who give so much. It’s a fact that carers earn less and give of their time to provide an integral service in our communities and we wanted to create an opportunity that supports them in a fundamental way.

“Carers Australia have been highly supportive and we feel strongly that this is a positive way to impact the lives of carers.”
