French culture to be celebrated at Marina Mirage this Saturday

Say bonjour to the best of french culture at Marina Mirage this Saturday, with free croissants and roaming Can Can girls in celebration of Bastille Day.

As a nod to France’s National Day, the Centre’s 20 sails will also radiate the traditional French colours of blue, white and red as part of the festivities.

La Provence, Marina Mirage’s very own French café and eatery, will be the hub for most of the celebrations and will be offering free croissants to shoppers.

Traditional Can Can dancers will also roam the centre and entertain shoppers with joyous, boisterous dance combined with rustling skirts and impressive high kicks.

Marina Mirage Marketing Manager Chelsea Steber said the event is a great chance for locals to enjoy a little bit of french culture here on the Gold Coast.

“As Australians we love to embrace elements of French culture such as fine food and wine and of course, fashion so it is nice to celebrate this important day on the French calendar with some fun, themed festivities in the Centre,” said Ms Steber.

Bastille Day acknowledges The French National Day, the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution. The date also coincides with Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on July 14, 1790.
