Fresh carjacking reports on the Gold Coast

There have been reports of a  car jacking, possibly involving an armed person on the Gold Coast on Thursday night.

Police say initial information suggested that a vehicle had been stolen and one person involved may have had a weapon on them before 10:00pm.

Officers patrolled the area, but stressed that there was no pursuit, the car was eventually located in Mudgeeraba.

Two people were quizzed and one has been charged over a petrol drive-off at Mermaid Beach.

No weapons were found.
