CEO and founder of Friends With Dignity Limited Manuela Whitford said: “We are so grateful to the community and our volunteers for their support – it’s amazing. And thank you so much to Sunshine Automotive!”
Ms Whitford told myGC the money will go towards ensuring domestic violence survivors have the best possible start to their new life. “We purchase new pillows, bathroom items as well as new kitchen appliances, so this $2000 is going to make such a huge difference. With this money on-hand, we can go and purchase the items that we need.”
Donations Co-ordinator Lynne McCleish added: “Thank you once again Sunshine Automotive. This will make a big difference with our donation side of things for the purchase of new items. You and I wouldn’t want to have those items second-hand in our homes, so we don’t expect our survivors to either.”
Nominations are still open for the September round of the Sunshine Automotive Community Fund. All local community groups, sporting clubs or not-for-profit organisations are welcome to nominate to receive a $2,000 no strings attached donation.
