Frightening footage captures moment lightning strikes near Qantas plane during Sydney storm
Frightening footage has captured the moment a lightning bolt struck behind a Qantas plane during Sydney’s storm yesterday.
Storm chaser Daniel Shaw captured the terrifying bolt while filming from his car in La Perouse around 5.30pm Tuesday.
Although passenger aircraft’s are built to withstand lightning strikes, the image would send shivers down anyone’s spine.
Two women were taken to hospital after being struck by lightning during the storm yesterday.
One woman was hit by a bolt at St Marys, while another was struck at Newtown.
