Fundraiser launched for funeral of woman found dead in Gold Coast charity bin

The family and friends of a woman who was found dead in a Gold Coast charity bin have started a Go Fund Me page to pay for her funeral.

Charmaine O’Shea, also know as ‘Mikki’, was discovered in a bin behind the Stocklands Shopping Centre in Burleigh Heads on Monday morning.

A crime scene was quickly established, but investigators deemed the death as non-suspicious, putting it down to ‘misadventure’.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

Meantime, grieving friends and family have started a Go Fund Me page last night to raise money for Mikki’s funeral.

“Mikki was a vibrant, creative, and just all round amazing person who was a devoted single mother to her 3 kids,” the fundraiser description reads.

“She was the most generous person someone could ever meet. She was such a joyful woman who always lived life vicariously.

“The family of Mikki is going through a very difficult time as this was a horrible accident that no one could’ve expected.

“The family has still not been told the whole story.

“I am asking that you donate to help support the family as they struggle with the difficulties of arranging her final farewell and all the extras associated with such a hard thing.”
