An online fundraising drive has been launched for the young son of a Gold Coast man who died following an angle grinder accident last month.
The man aged in his 30’s, known only as Jeff, was struck in the face by the grinder blade at Worongary on June 10.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and underwent 13 hours of surgery.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead almost two weeks later.
Family friend Renee Taylor has set up a Go Fund Me account in an effort to raise money for Jeff’s young son, Joey, whom he leaves behind.
“(Jeff’s) family and friends are seeking to raise money to assure Joey of the future we know Jeff would have provided for him,” Renee said.
“He was so many things to all, to each and everyone. A Dad, a friend, a much loved brother and a cherished son.
“He was in a coma and he was responding, but sadly, he stopped breathing,” Renee said. “The fight was simply too much.”
More than $2100 has been raised for the family in the first 19 hours of the fundraising site going live.
