GABLE Tostee has been committed to stand trial for the murder of New Zealand tourist Warriena Wright.
Tostee was due to face Southport Magistrates Court for a committal hearing today, however Mr Tostee’s lawyers and prosecutors consented to the murder case going straight to the Supreme Court.
The 29-year-old is accused of murdering Ms Wright, 26, who fell from Tostee’s 14th-floor Surfers Paradise apartment balcony in August 2014 following an alleged altercation.

Police have said Mr Tostee was not on the balcony when Ms Wright fell, but argue he is culpable for murder because she was allegedly in fear of her life and trying to flee.
A date for the trial has not yet been set.
