Galey To The Rescue has already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Gold Coasters in need. From riding a BMX bike non-stop for 24 hours to raise money for a BMX star who suffered a brain injury, to dragging a wheelie bin from one end of the coast to the other to raise money to prevent domestic violence.
The challenges are tough on Galey but rewarding for those who need it most.
Rallying the support of the whole city is the mission and Galey has never failed to complete it with the help of 1029 Hot Tomato listeners.

Walk for Watches
Galey carted a wheelie bin from one end of the Gold Coast to the other to raise much needed funds for domestic violence victims on the Gold Coast.
The ‘Walk for Watches’ went for a 12 hours and raised a whopping $73,644.65 for the Hearts of Purple to purchase GPS tracking security watches for locals who need them.
The money covered the costs of 56 watches!

Ride for Kai
It was no easy feat, but Galey pushed himself to the limit and successfully completed his Galey To The Rescue – 24-hour Ride for Kai BMX challenge.
The Hot Tomato radio announcer crossed the finish line to a chorus of cheers at 8am on Friday at the Nerang BMX track.
Donations poured in from the Gold Coast community throughout Galey’s ride, with close to $33,000 raised to help local BMX rider Kai Sakakibara with his rehabilitation.
