Gas leak closes down part of Westfield Helensvale

A Gold Coast shopping centre has been partly evacuated this morning following reports of a gas leak.

Fire crews have reportedly closed down the eastern side of Westfield Helensvale after receiving calls that there was a strong smell of gas at the centre.

Firefighters remain on the scene and are conducting tests.
