Gateway Motorway closed after truck bursts into flames [pics]
UPDATE @ 10.30am:Â One lane has reopened southbound on the Gateway Motorway after a truck burst into flames earlier this morning.
The semi-trailer was travelling north on the Gateway around 8.30am, when it erupted into flames near the Sandgate Road overpass.
Several crews have since managed to extinguish the large blaze, however traffic in the area is chaos.
One southbound lane has since reopened, with a second expected to be opened shortly, Queensland police tweeted.

EARLIER @ 9.30am: The Gateway Motorway has been closed in both directions after a truck burst into flames.
The semi-trailer was travelling north on the Gateway around 8.30am this morning, when it erupted into flames near the Sandgate Road overpass.
Several crews have since managed to extinguish the large blaze, however traffic in the area is chaos.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and to seek alternative routes.

Luckily, no one is believed to have been injured.
It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze.
