GC cop on misconduct charges fronts court

COURT documents have revealed a Gold Coast police officer charged with misconduct released CCTV footage to the media to get back at an officer who was promoted ahead of him.

GOLD COAST, July 15 AAP – A Gold Coast police officer stood down and charged with misconduct after allegedly leaking footage of colleagues assaulting a handcuffed man has faced court.

Sergeant Rick Flori, 44, said nothing in the Southport Magistrates Court as his matter was briefly mentioned.

Flori has been charged with one count of criminal misconduct in public office after allegedly leaking a video of a January 2012 incident at Surfers Paradise.
