GC entrepreneurs off to London after winning Pitch @ Palace Aussie final!

UPDATE @ September 29, 6.45am: TWO Gold Coast entrepreneurs have been crowned winners of the inaugural Pitch@Palace Australia start-up competition by Prince Andrew, The Duke of York.

Alisha Geary and Nev Hyman pitched their innovative business ideas to the Prince at Government House in Sydney on Thursday, where they were awarded the top spot!

The pair will now be flown to London to represent Australia at the global final of Pitch@Palace at St James’ Palace on 6 December, competing against some of the worlds best, and most innovative start-ups.

FAEBELLA, by Alisha Geary is a luxury active wear brand which offers apparel with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art designs.

The company’s mission is to share the rich culture and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by presenting their art on active wear.

NevHouse, by Gold Coast businessman, and former surfboard shaper, Nev Hyman, turns recycled plastic and other sustainable materials into low cost homes, schools and medical clinics.

These structures are constructed in five days or less and function off the grid.

EARLIER @ September 28, 6.30am: Two Gold Coasters, Alisha Geary and Nev Hyman will pitch their business ideas to Prince Andrew at Government House in Sydney today.

The pair are among 12 start-ups throughout the country to make it to the national final of the Pitch@Palace Australia start-up competition.

Alisha’s business idea is FAEBELLA, which is a luxury active wear brand that offers apparel with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art designs.

Both Alisha and Nev will battle it out against 10 other finalists, with the winner going on to pitch their idea at the Global Final at St James’ Palace London in December.
