International visitors have flocked to the Gold Coast over the last year.
A recent study shows in the last 12 months almost a million people have visited the holiday destination, which is a 4.2 per cent rise.
Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter said the Coast is one of the State’s most popular locations for a holiday.

“It shows that the Gold Coast still takes pride of place on people’s holiday itineraries and that the appeal and marketing of the destination is strong,” he said.
“In fact, the Gold Coast represents almost half of all holiday visitors to Queensland, we had 843,000 people among Queensland’s 1.8m.”
Within that sum, we had over 300,000 Chinese visitors.
“We see the numbers from China continue to grow and the rate of that growth is more sustainable now at 3.4 per cent,” he said.
Dissapoingly there was a slight drop in tourists from New Zealand, the Coast’s second-biggest source market.
Gold Coast Tourism says they’ll be working hard to re-entice Kiwi’s to cross the pond and visit the GC.
