A GOLD Coast man will face Brisbane Magistrates Court today, charged with serious child exploitation offences.
The 63-year-old was arrested yesterday at Brisbane Airport while trying to board a flight to the Philippines.
The Biggera Waters man is accused of using the internet to communicate with a girl under the age of 16 in the Philippines, in an attempt to engage in sexual activity with her and other children.

He’s been charged with grooming a child to engage in sexual activity outside of Australia, an offence which carries a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
Queensland Police, Australian Federal Police and Australian Border Force all worked together on the operation.
AFP Commander Lesa Gale said investigations like this highlight the realities of child exploitation around the world.
“There are offenders who seek to use the anonymity of the internet to identify and target vulnerable children,” she said.
“I commend the work of all the officers involved as they continue to take all necessary action to protect children in Australia and internationally from sexual exploitation.”
