A man who blew almost five times over the limit has been stopped from driving his car by onlookers at Main Beach.
Police say one driver parked his car behind the man’s vehicle to stop him from leaving while a woman called officers for assistance.
When police arrived at MacAthur Parade around 6pm on Monday April 4, they arrested the man and took him to Surfers Paradise police station where he allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.235 per cent; nearly five times the legal limit.
