Singer Matthew Breen has become a viral sensation after an incident on his way to Australia
While chatting to 1029 Hot Tomato’s Scoot as part of Gold Coast Uncovered, the 20-year-old from Liverpool, UK, said it all came about when he was performing an impromptu concert outside a cafe at Manchester Airport before boarding a flight to Australia.
“I was surprised and a little shocked to see an armed police officer standing behind me,” he told Scoot. “He asked if I had any Happy Mondays songs in my repertoire, I didn’t but suggested some Oasis tunes. He said ‘sure thing”, so I began to play “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and he joined in singing and pretended to strum along on his rifle.”

Breen had no idea the performance was being filmed on a mobile phone by a fellow traveller who posted the video online. It has now been watched more 1.1 million times.
