Generous stranger pays new mum’s hospital parking ticket

A MOTHER has taken to social media to thank the good samaritan who paid her parking fine.

The woman had been in Canberra Hospital with her sick nine-week-old baby boy when she returned to her car and found a parking-ticket on the windscreen.

Before she could get upset, the mother noticed a mystery fuchsia pink post-it note along with the ticket.

Written on the post-it was a letter from a woman known only as Laura, explaining that she had paid the mother’s fine.

“Hi there, I saw your car had a parking ticket on it. I’m sure that whatever you are going through at hospital is tough enough, so I have paid for you. Hope things get better!”

The mother took to the Facebook group Canberra Mums to share her story and say thank you to the generous stranger.

“Over the past few days I have been in hospital with my 9-week-old son. We were discharged today and as I walked to my car I noticed that I had a parking ticket. After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn’t need. Well, to my surprise, when I opened the envelope, there was a note from a lovely lady named Laura. I hope that Laura sees this and knows how much I appreciate her support. Thank you so much”.
